Bid accepted: Barca target follows Virgil van Dijk to Anfield as LFC close in on 2nd signing

Liverpool have agreed a £200k fee with Falkirk for exciting youngster Tony Gallacher, who’s drawn interest from both Barcelona and Manchester United in the past.

The Express claims the Scot is likely to join up with the Academy at first with a deal being finalised before the end of January.

Liverpool have agreed to include hefty sell-on clauses in the deal, but in terms of modern transfer fees – it’s an absolute snip.

Gallacher plays left-back for his boyhood club and has made 17 appearances in total, a regular across various age groups for Scotland, as well.

Liverpool’s first-choice left-back is Scotland’s primary option in the position, Andrew Robertson, so Gallacher will have the perfect player to learn from upon finalising the transfer.

He’ll join a number of talented youngsters already on our books, including Ben Woodburn, Rhian Brewster and Trent Alexander-Arnold – who’s already a regular under Jurgen Klopp.

Gallacher seems a down to earth lad, and here’s what he said about the interest of Barca previously:

“At first everyone wants a bit of you and people are promising you everything. The most surreal one was the link to Barcelona,” he said.

“My pal texted me it at first and I thought he was kidding.

“But more and more stuff was being sent to me and I was trying to figure out if it was true or not. My agent had to calm me down a bit and peel me off the walls.

“It was good to know clubs were looking at me. But at the same time it was pressurising.”

Gallacher will be the second new arrival of the January transfer window following Virgil van Dijk, who was signed on the 1st for £75m.

Time will tell if Klopp decides to go in for another attacker before the month is up, but we’re not holding out much hope.
