Harry Wilson scored on his first start in the Football League since 2015 to get off the mark for loan club Hull City on Saturday.

The Welshman burst into the box to finish off from close range and help the Tigers towards a valuable 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Wilson’s goal led his temporary employers to their first win in 10 league matches and subsequently moved Hull out of the Championship relegation zone.

The forward sealed a loan move to the KCOM Stadium on January deadline day in search of regular first team football, serving as his first spell away from Merseyside since his unproductive 2015 stint with Crewe Alexandra.

Wilson has been in superb form for Liverpool’s U23s over the past two seasons and has been long overdue a transition to senior football.

Though he will undoubtedly score better goals in his career, Wilson’s tap-in recognised the persistence and desire that has fuelled his bright reputation at Anfield.

Here’s a look at his first goal for his new club…
