Virgil van Dijk already earned himself instant fan favourite status with his Merseyside Derby debut goal, but his performance against Southampton yesterday was easily his best since signing from Southampton.
He was utterly composed, strong and passed the ball tremendously.

After the game, when interviewed, he was told by the reporter that Manchester United lost v Newcastle – and the Dutchman couldn’t hide his glee!
Van Dijk channeled his inner-Lucas Leiva and dropped a casual ‘UNLUCKEE,’ before reverting back to ‘professional footballer’ interview style.
