Sadio Mane has been rewarded with a welcomed bonus for his memorable week on the European stage for Liverpool.
The Senegalese forward has been named Champions League Player of the Week after scoring a hat-trick in the Reds’ 5-0 in the first-leg of their last 16 clash with Porto.
Mane’s treble served as an emphatic response to his stuttering run of form and added to a goal apiece from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in handing Jurgen Klopp’s men a healthy advantage ahead of the return leg at Anfield.

With 57% of the votes, Mane comfortably saw off the Real Madrid’s Marcelo, with 29%, and Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen, with 11%.
Salah previously scooped the award after his display in Liverpool’s 7-0 Group Stage win over NK Maribor back in October.
The Reds are currently the top-scoring team in the competition and look in good shape to progress to the quarter-finals – barring a miraculous comeback from Porto.
A significant deficit could give Klopp the chance to make team changes in the second leg ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford that follows a matter of days after.
After a difficult period from an individual perspective, Mane’s fresh boost bodes well ahead of a potentially defining run of fixtures.
