Juve may have changed their tune on Emre Can…

It looked for all the world like Emre Can would agree Bosman terms with Juventus last month.

In fact, it was actually prematurely announced by Sky Sports that a deal was done, if you checkout this tweet from January 1:

But fast forward to March, and no announcement has been made.

The German is still in Liverpool’s starting XI and playing well, with his manager Jurgen Klopp offering no clues as to where Can will be playing next season.

According to Juve CEO Guiseppe Marotta, there’s a decent chance it won’t be in Turin.

“We know that there are other clubs in the race to sign him,” Marotta told Goal on Thursday.

“If he decides to come to Juventus, we will be happy, but if he decides to join another team, we will take another chance.”

If Can departs to another Premier League club, we’d be absolutely fuming.

Running down your deal and leaving for Europe to experience another footballing culture is understandable, but if he headed to Manchester, we’d be rightly outraged.

At least when Raheem Sterling did it Liverpool benefited from a sizeable transfer fee.
