Klopp told Ousmane Dembele on market: ‘Oooh.. Now I’m interested’

There was some strange news shared after Liverpool’s defeat to Chelsea yesterday.

French outlet RMC categorically reported a deal had been done for Nabil Fekir, before suggesting Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele is also very much on the radar.

“The very likely arrival of Nabil Fekir will not stop Liverpool. According to our information, the Reds are also concretely positioned to bring Ousmane Dembélé,” they wrote.

In his post-match interview though, it seemed Jurgen Klopp didn’t know the Barcelona man was even available, while scoffing at the idea of the Fekir deal being wrapped up during a vital game.

He did however hint that he’s a massive fan of Dembele and if the French wonderkid is available, Liverpool might move for him.

“Oooh, he’s on the market? Now I’m interested!'” he began.

“Ok, I never comment on transfer rumours… I’ve already said much than I usually say.”

For us though, we really doubt Barca would even consider a talent as precocious as Dembele, due to the price they paid for him in the summer of 2017 and the months it took them to pry Coutinho from our grasp.

The 21-year-old hasn’t had an especially good season, but Barca are still likely to wrap up an Invincible La Liga campaign – so it’s not like they’re in a poor position.
