Liverpool have been talking to AS Roma, Alisson and the goalkeeper’s representatives since December, reports respected Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.
They also claim that Roma initially slapped a €100m price-tag on the Brazilian’s head, but Liverpool want to pay half that, closer to €50m.
As a result, we’re currently negotiating with both player and club in an attempt to meet somewhere in the middle.
Globo Esporte suggest that Jurgen Klopp and interestingly, Liverpool’s American owners FSG have impressed Alisson and that he wouldn’t be averse to a transfer.
We’d happily take the 25-year-old at Anfield, if he’s the man chosen as our new no.1.
We feel very sorry for Loris Karius and think some of the fallout regarding his concussion has been dealt with very disrespectfully by fellow pros. But he still needs replacing.
It’s been over five years since Liverpool had an elite stopper, and Pepe Reina wasn’t at his best towards the end of his Anfield reign.
