Liverpool fans are in limbo today…
Last night, we were told by all the sources we trust most (Paul Joyce, Melissa Reddy, James Pearce etc.) that a deal with Lyon for Nabil Fekir had been completed – and that the transfer would be officially announced today.

However, we woke up to a statement from Lyon that suggested media reports were false and that we should wait for their official announcement…
Dave Maddock in the Mirror claimed this was more to do with Lyon’s stock market obligations, and Get French Football have expanded on this detail:
Lyon must make any announcement of significant business to stock exchange first.

They say that Lyon cannot announce a deal or be part of any announcement until after 5pm UK Time – due to their obligations as a PLC.
French stock market regulations state that a listed company, like Groupe OL, cannot release "important" information when the market is open, meaning any possible Nabil Fékir to Liverpool announcement will not occur before 17:00 English time, when the French stock market closes.

This makes sense, although it means we face a few more hours of nervous waiting.
Fekir has landed in Lyon ahead of France’s friendly with the United States tomorrow, but we hope a medical was done in Paris, as RMC claim it was.

So for now, we wait, although France Football journalist Nabil Djellit says it’s done and dusted.
Fekir va jouer à Liverpool. Terminé.
