Antoine Griezmann decision could spoil Liverpool’s transfer plans

Some slightly dodgy reports in Spain report that Barcelona could threaten any potential revival of us signing Nabil Fekir this summer.

You’ll be well aware by now of Liverpool’s move for the Lyon star stalling due to concerns over his knee injury history, as detailed here by the Liverpool Echo.

It remains to be seen if we’ll be back in for the France international after the World Cup if we can get him for less money, but it’s been claimed Barca have joined the running.

According to Don Balon – hardly the most reliable source in the world – Barcelona’s failure to sign Antoine Griezmann could see them try a number of other options in attack, including Fekir.

Now, while it makes perfect sense for the Catalan giants to look at other attacking midfielders and forwards over Griezmann, that doesn’t mean it’s Fekir just because Don Balon say so.

Either way, we shouldn’t be too fussed if this does happen as LFC’s need for Fekir is arguably not that great anyway.

More depth is needed up front, but not necessarily another player who’d expect to start regularly like someone of the Lyon man’s calibre.
