World Cup star wants to make LFC ‘salivate’ ahead of potential future transfer

Sorry… It’s the daily Nabil Fekir update.

We wouldn’t write them, but the men closest to him keep adding more fuel to the fire.

Last night, France Football claimed Fekir’s entourage are hoping their player can light up the World Cup and make Liverpool ‘salivate’ again – prompting more bids after the tournament.

Their report is translated by Get France Football, who reiterate the narrative that Liverpool tried to renegotiate a price for the 24-year-old after results of his medical left our medical staff worried about the Lyon captain’s knees.

This has been denied by Liverpool circles, but no other reason has presented to us as to why the deal broke down – with the respected correspondents in the dark.

If Liverpool don’t go back in for Fekir, James Pearce of the Echo is convinced Jurgen Klopp will go for an alternative – but only if it’s someone he truly rates.

“I still expect Klopp to sign a Coutinho replacement in this window but as we’ve seen with the left-back and the centre-back situations in recent years, if he can’t get exactly what he wants he’s prepared to wait.”

It’d be crazy for Liverpool to not bring in a creative midfielder who can also backup the front-three, but as Pearce suggests, Klopp can be extremely stubborn in the transfer market – hence why as of yet no goalkeeper has been heavily targeted either.
