Fabinho is a doubt for Sunday’s clash with West Ham, after injuring himself in training.

This is according to photographer Mark Hughes, although we wait for official club confirmation.

The Brazilian has featured more in pre-season than any other player, anchoring our midfield with aplomb, but it looks like he’ll potentially miss the Premier League opener…

In his place, Liverpool could call upon captain Jordan Henderson, who made his pre-season debut on Tuesday evening against Torino.

He looked completely comfortable against the Italians, but we can guarantee Jurgen Klopp would prefer to give him a prolonged training period than throw him in straight away.

The other option is Gini Wijnaldum holding, with Naby Keita and James Milner either side – which as a trio provides interesting balance.

Ideally, Fabinho’s withdrawal today will be nothing more than precautionary, although we’ll wait to hear more news.
