Bristol City in Liverpool’s ‘bad books’ confirms Lee Johnson

Bristol City manager Lee Johnson doesn’t think his club will be allowed to take any more Liverpool players on loan following Ryan Kent’s failed stint last term.

Our winger is currently with Rangers under Steven Gerrard’s guidance, but flopped in the Championship during the second half of 2017/18 – making just ten appearances, scoring no goals and registering zero assists.

“I think this club has a good reputation with the top clubs – apart from probably with Liverpool at the moment, we’re not in their good books – but as a general rule we’ve always looked after everybody’s players and they’ve gone on to do well,” Johnson told the Bristol Post.

Liverpool fined Bristol following Kent’s spell, as there was a clause in the contract which meant the 21-year-old had to play a certain amount of games, which he failed to.

We reckon he’ll have a better time under Gerrard though, with our former captain also taking Ovie Ejaria on a temporary basis and Jon Flanagan full-time.

Ejaria has shone recently, scoring an excellent goal against Motherwell and dominating in a Europa League qualifier versus UFA, too.
