James Milner hasn’t ruled out the possibility of eventually heading north of the boarder and signing for either his ex-manager Brendan Rodgers or his ex-captain Steven Gerrard!

The Englishman, who’s arguably been Liverpool’s best player so far this season, was speaking to the Herald ahead of a clash between a Liverpool legends side and a Celtic greats team, in A Match for Cancer at Celtic Park on September 8th.

“I would never say never. You never know what is going to happen!” he began.

“They are always good games to watch anyway, but there is a bit of added spice this time with the two managers (Brendan Rodgers and Steven Gerrard) going up against each other and their history.”

Milner is 32-years-old, but is arguably playing some of the best football of his entire career.

His natural fitness is phenomenal, and the fact he doesn’t drink and looks after himself exceptionally means he’s not nearly on his last legs.

In fact, against the odds, Milner has started all three of our Premier League victories so far and is keeping £44m Brazilian Fabinho and captain Jordan Henderson out of the side!

And deservedly so, too.

To think, in 2016/17, Milner was used as an auxiliary left-back – and now he’s a guaranteed starter centrally.
