Fabinho’s last trip to Spurs was actually to White Hart Lane and not Wembley, but the Brazilian put in a defensive performance of serious magnitude during the 2016/17 season, in which his former side AS Monaco were drawn in the same group.
Monaco won 2-1, with goals from Thomas Lemar and Bernardo Silva confirming victory, but Fabinho was arguably the Man of the Match.

The Brazilian won countless tackles and interceptions and formed an unbelievable platform from which his teammates could perform. He had Dele Alli in his pocket throughout the 90 minutes, based on these highlights.
He also passed the ball sensibly, but it was definitely his work off the ball that most impressed us.
Despite the fact he did well for Brazil against USA during the international break, we can’t imagine Jurgen Klopp will throw him straight into the deep end.
Still, it’s mighty encouraging for our future games against serious opposition.
