We honestly think there’s certain players who have reputations for being good and certain players bad – and there’s not much they can do in terms of their performance for the wider football public to change their preconceived opinions.
N’Golo Kante is a terrific destroying midfielder and this isn’t meant as a criticism of the Frenchman in any way. He’s a fantastic guy and clearly benefits the teams he plays for enormously, largely because of his defensive traits.
But why when Jordan Henderson puts in a ‘Kante-esque’ performance it’s simply ignored…
In the clip below, you’ll see Liverpool’s captain winning the ball back three times in 25 seconds. That’s incredible dynamism, work-rate and desire – and set the tone for the win against PSG.
We’re not saying Henderson is as good a defensive midfielder as Kante. He isn’t, but he’s still a very good player and somebody Jurgen Klopp trusts implicitly. Liverpool are six from six and it’s about time the skipper got the unconditional support he’s earned from ALL Reds.
25 pure seconds of Henderson winning the ball back 3 times. Madness. pic.twitter.com/tIYrxw3rju
