Key Reds man reportedly in talks over new deal

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson is apparently in talks over a new contract with the club as a reward for his excellent form.

The Scottish full-back has established himself as one of the top performers in a red shirt this season, and is certainly one of the top left-backs in the world right now.

He seems delighted to be playing for the Reds and is a man Jurgen Klopp has done wonders with since he arrived from Hull City.

Bringing him in, effectively in exchange for Kevin Stewart, was a masterstroke by Michael Edwards, and Klopp and his staff have been brilliant with him up to now.

The Daily Mail’s Dominic King says no announcement is imminent, but confirmed that both Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold will sign new deals at some point, if not in the next few weeks.

It was never likely anything would be done before the end of 2018 at this stage, but it is promising that both want to stick around and are keen to remain at Anfield. That was never in doubt, of course, but it isn’t long since that might not have been the case.

It appears it will only be a matter of time before the development of both full-backs is rewarded. We could have that area of the pitch sorted for the next few seasons!
