Yesterday, Roberto Firmino missed team training ahead of the Bayern Munich fixture due to feeling unwell. James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum have both been sick recently, as was Virgil van Dijk for the whole of January. Dejan Lovren, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip have been ill since the turn of 2019, as well!

Journalist David Lynch said players falling sick at Liverpool is ‘ridiculously regular…’ and he has a point.

In fairness, Wijnaldum had such bad diarrhoea against Bournemouth last time out, he said he was worried he was going to have an embarrassing moment on the pitch – and he still managed to put in a Man of the Match performance!

We wouldn’t back against Firmino doing the same tonight…
