So in the summer of 2019, we expect Michael Edwards to do the same.
According to the Echo, we’ve put a £12.9m price-tag on Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi, who’s never played or even trained with us – and are asking the same amount for Ryan Kent.
The English winger has done well at Rangers and at 22-years-old, the £12m fee is reasonable, but many Reds won’t have even heard of Awoniyi – who arrived in 2015 and has been out on-loan since.
Since January, he’s hit the first run of serious form since he became a Liverpool player, scoring seven goals in nine games.
Considering Liverpool only really need two or three proper arrivals before 2019/20, there’s a possibility we could fund by simply offloading deadwood.
