Liverpool have to get past Huddersfield on Friday evening, before we travel to St. James’ Park for our final away day of the campaign v Newcastle.

It’ll be a pivotal weekend in the race for the Premier League title, with Manchester City heading to Burnley to face Sean Dyche’s revitalised side.

Many fans have suggested Newcastle, who have nothing to play for and are managed by former Liverpool hero Rafa Benitez, will roll out the red carpet and offer us little resistance – but Alan Shearer disagrees.

“I keep hearing people saying Rafa will be desperate for Liverpool to win the league. Believe me, Rafa will not want to give Liverpool anything,” he said when asked on the matter.

To be honest, we’re as interested in City’s results as our own right now.

We hope to have enough to get past Huddersfield, Newcastle and Wolves – but we’ll still finish in 2nd place unless Pep Guardiola’s side slip up.

They have to face Burnley, Leicester City and Brighton – three teams who will be huge underdogs against one of the best sides to ever grace this country.
