Decision whether Spurs will start Kane in UCL final has been made – report

The decision whether Spurs will start Harry Kane in the Champions League final against Liverpool has reportedly been made. According to the Star, the England international will begin the game at Madrid by warming the bench.

This will come as somewhat of a blow to Spurs as they’d have hoped their star forward would have been fit enough to play a major part in the summit of the competition.

Kane hasn’t played since the quarter-final first leg against Manchester City when he damaged ankle ligaments. Still – there’d be questions on whether he should start as he’s been out for so long.

It’d then be anticipated that Heung-min Son will reclaim his spot as the main forward for the Londoners in Madrid – with the form of the South Korean international and Lucas Moura, Spurs will still be confident.

It’s still yet to be confirmed if Bobby Firmino will be fit enough to start the game for Liverpool, but the Brazilian surely stands a better chance than Kane.

Bobby stepped up his training just last week, and is now in serious contention to put his mark on the Champions League final. After the heroics of Divock Origi against Barcelona, Reds fans probably wouldn’t mind if our number nine starts on the bench too.
