Sadio Mane identifies the area he improved most in last season – and sets next year’s goal

Sadio Mane believes he can get even better next season after winning the Champions League with the Reds and sharing the Premier League Golden Boot with Mo Salah and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Since Jurgen Klopp brought in the winger for around £30 million from Southampton, he has improved year on year. Mane says the same can happen next year despite the very high levels he has already reached.

Mane also says his goalscoring skills were the area he improved most in across last season, culminating in his best ever Premier League tally.

He told LiverpoolFC.com: “To be honest, I think I improved a lot in my finishing. It was positive because I can say I improved every season, which is important in my development. I will try to work harder and harder to get better and better.”

Even if he only matches what he achieved this year in the upcoming season, that would be a big help for the Reds’ ambitions. There’s no doubt that he has become world class under Klopp and we’re excited to see what he does next.

Maintain that level again, and he could even be in with a shout of winning the Ballon d’Or, although Virgil van Dijk will be the favourite from a Reds perspective.
