Milner picks out two players for special praise after 6-0 rout #ShockDivScored

James Milner was everywhere last night!

The midfielder, captain on the night in the absence of Jordan Henderson, put in a top level performance which proves he’s certainly not lost any hunger since winning the Champions League.

Following the 6-0 drubbing, Milly took to Twitter in praise of two-goal striker Rhian Brewster, whose clinical finishing put the game beyond the League One outfit in the first-half.

Instead of buying an elite forward this summer, Jurgen Klopp has decided to put his eggs in Brewster’s basket, so it’s good to see how highly our senior players rate him.

Milner also added a hashtag, #shockdivscored, in reference to Divock Origi’s lovely second-half goal – which we enjoyed very much!

It’s a big summer for both the forwards, who now need to prove Klopp was right to show such faith in them.

Origi penned a long-term deal yesterday and celebrated it with a goal – and we just hope this enables him to start the season with plenty of confidence.

Sadio Mane is still at the AFCON, so we’d predict he won’t be able to play in our opening game, or few games, of the season – giving Origi a big chance right from the outset.
