Championship club contact Liverpool over 18-goal winger

Derby County have contacted Liverpool over Harry Wilson, who has performed well on the Reds’ pre-season so far, according to Press Association – via SportsMole.

The winger spent last season on loan with the Rams and bagged 18 goals for them in what was an impeccable return for the Welsh international.

The report claims that Derby have asked Liverpool to consider them if the Reds decide that Wilson is not part of their plans for the upcoming season.

The winger has played well so far in pre-season, and he bagged himself a consolation goal as Borussia Dortmund ran out 3-2 winners at Notre Dame.

Wilson is surely hoping to get himself into Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the upcoming season, but another loan to Derby – where he enjoyed a glittering year – might not be a bad idea.

He had an impressive return at the Championship club which earned him a nomination for the EFL Young Player of the Year award.

Wales Online suggest that Aston Villa are also interested in the Welsh winger, and, as the club has now been promoted to the Premier League, they may be a preferable destination.
