Liverpool’s young Nigerian forward, Taiwo Awoniyi, has been linked with an intriguing loan move to Ligue 1.
Complete Sports state the 21-year-old, who did well in Belgium last season, could join up with Patrick Vieira’s Nice outfit in his toughest loan test yet.
In 2018/19, Awoniyi scored 14 goals in total, mostly at Mouscron, whom he rejoined in January from Gent.
The striker is a physical specimen and shoots with power, but doesn’t seem to offer much outside of the penalty area yet.
As a result, he’s not been deemed good enough for Liverpool – but if he shines in France – the forward could either be given a proper chance next season or be sold for a large profit.
We hope Awoniyi does well under the legendary former Arsenal midfielder and at least gives Liverpool a proper decision to make.
However, he’s now at the age where he can longer be considered a prodigy – and as a result – needs to start racking up serious numbers if he’s to ever make a Liverpool debut.
