Norwich boss pays Liverpool compliment which will wind up Man City fans

Norwich manager Daniel Farke was very complimentary of Liverpool as he side came away from Anfield, having conceded four and scoring once themselves.

The Reds dominated the first half, in which all four goals were had, but, after Alisson had gone off injured, the second half was a much closer affair.

The Canaries found the back of the net and made a great account of themselves at the most difficult ground to travel to in the country.

Speaking to the press after the game, Farke claimed that Liverpool are the best team in the world. “In general we are so disappointed we lost this game,he’s quoted as saying by TEAMtalk.

We wanted to be the first team to win here in two-and-a-half years. We were greedy to do this. But there are many positive things to take.

We score an own goal, the second goal comes following three deflections and the ball lands at the feet of Mo Salah and he is a world class finisher.

Yes, I would have preferred to defend the third and fourth goals a bit more physically. That was a little naive. If I am really honest it is not that easy to defend Virgil van Dijk in the air or Divock Origi in the air. But those goals were not necessary.

We have played a side who beat Barcelona here 4-0, who are unbeaten at home in the league for two years and more and in my opinion are the best team in the world right now. When you have a start like we did, then of course it is going to be difficult for Norwich City to win here.

While it’s not the most outlandish thing to call the European Champions the ‘best team in the world’, this is bound to wind up domestic champions Manchester City.

City fans were already bemoaning not having bouquets lashed at them for effectively buying the Premier League so this isn’t going to go down well with them.

That being said, Liverpool have an opportunity this season to stop them from winning their third straight title, and already have three points on the board. Here’s hoping!
