Liverpool fans have been giving their thoughts after Bayern Munich agreed a deal in principle to sign Philippe Coutinho on loan.
The Reds, according to the Telegraph‘s Chris Bascombe, turned down an opportunity to strike a similar earlier this month.
Should Coutinho impress at the Allianz, they can make the move permanent for around €120million.
The Barcelona dream for which he left at Anfield, then, has gone up in smoke.
A number of Reds say he’s paying the price for a career-defining mistake.
Klopp on Coutinho: "I told him stay and they will end up building a statue in his honour. Go somewhere else, to Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and you will be just another player. Here you can be something more.”
From another player at Barca to Bayern. Klopp warned him.

Two years and five days on from Coutinho's first transfer request and that horrific back injury that kept him out at Watford. https://t.co/VEfcGzANW2

Coutinho could have been our legend and instead paid £11.5m to force a move.
We used his funds to get the best CB and GK in the world and won the UCL.
From one of the best players in the PL to failing in La Liga and now moving to Bundesliga. A sad story.

His time at his dream club ended quick and we know now he regrets it

Leaving your loyal wife for a shiny model type girlfriend is never a good idea.

Nobody that has gone to Barcelona to play second fiddle to Messi has had a good ending.
Zlatan, Alexis, Coutinho, Suárez and Griezmann would see the same fate

A section of supporters did make the argument in favour of re-signing Coutinho during the window, but any chance of a reunion has now been put to bed.
Definitely a missed opportunity by LFC.

Just glad he hasn't ended up moving to another team in England

I guess the phillipe Coutinho is story is just that the grass is not always greener on the other side. All the best phillipe. Glad we don’t have to put up with anymore nonsense rumours of a return. #theend

Whilst some fans have drawn satisfaction from Coutinho’s struggles after his acrimonious departure, others continue to wish him well.
Bayern is a really good move for Phil Coutinho. He’ll be brilliant for them too.
