Liverpool fans have been giving their thoughts after Bayern Munich agreed a deal in principle to sign Philippe Coutinho on loan.
The Reds, according to the Telegraph‘s Chris Bascombe, turned down an opportunity to strike a similar earlier this month.
Should Coutinho impress at the Allianz, they can make the move permanent for around €120million.
The Barcelona dream for which he left at Anfield, then, has gone up in smoke.
A number of Reds say he’s paying the price for a career-defining mistake.
Klopp on Coutinho: "I told him stay and they will end up building a statue in his honour. Go somewhere else, to Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and you will be just another player. Here you can be something more.”
From another player at Barca to Bayern. Klopp warned him.

Nobody that has gone to Barcelona to play second fiddle to Messi has had a good ending.
Zlatan, Alexis, Coutinho, Suárez and Griezmann would see the same fate

A section of supporters did make the argument in favour of re-signing Coutinho during the window, but any chance of a reunion has now been put to bed.
He’d also been linked with Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal.

Whilst some fans have drawn satisfaction from Coutinho’s struggles after his acrimonious departure, others continue to wish him well.
