Who plays in Vincent Kompany’s testimonial is Vincent Kompany’s choice, right?
Not according to City fansite @YourMCFC, anyway.
The account is furious that Liverpool’s (Champions League winning) midfielder has been selected by the legendary Belgian to play in the friendly clash between City’s Legends and a Premier League Legends XI on September 11 – as shown in the tweet below.
He’s even called Milner a Judas, for goodness sake.
#MilnersNotWelcome@ManCity remove @JamesMilner from the @VincentKompany testimonial. A Judas who deliberately ran his contract down so he could receive a huge signing on bonus from Liverpool after leaving on a free.#MilnersNotWelcome

So where do we begin?
Milner, in his prime years, was a sub at City and had every right to move for first-team football, which was promised to him by Brendan Rodgers.
At the time, Liverpool were a step down from City and not a direct rival.
There was no betrayal. It was an honest transfer from a player who wanted minutes in his favoured position.
That he hasn’t always got that under Jurgen Klopp is irrelevant. When he made the transfer to Anfield he did so for honest reasons.
But yet, this City fan wants to cloud the testimonial of arguably his club’s greatest ever player by making the focus on the appearance of a Liverpool sub.
