Liverpool v Newcastle has always been full of goals.
The goal-fests of the mid-90s live long in the memory, but even last season we won a dramatic 3-2 encounter at St. James’ Park after a 4-0 Anfield pummelling on Boxing Day.
And LFC fansite have pointed out an interesting statistic in the buildup to this Saturday’s fixture…
If we score two at Anfield, we’ll be the first side to put 100 past a Premier League outfit who’s been relegated in the modern PL era.
So, we really do enjoy playing the Toon!

Steve Bruce is not a manager who especially intimidates us, and in truth, nothing but three points will do.
Manchester City play Norwich, which is a guaranteed win for our title rivals, so it’s up to Jurgen Klopp’s men to put the pressure on.
We expect some rotation, considering the fact we play Napoli a few days later in Italy and then travel to London for a crunch clash with Chelsea on September 22nd.
