Klopp’s optimistic update on Divock Origi injury

Divock Origi’s injury doesn’t look to be ‘that serious’, Jurgen Klopp says ahead of a medical examination.

Origi had to be substituted 37 minutes into the win over Newcastle after he was unable to shake off an ankle injury.

That the Belgian started over Roberto Firmino emphasises the important role he will play as Klopp rotates his squad.

The boss is not expecting a prolonged layoff, but he will soon know more.

“Unfortunately, Div twisted his ankle early in the game and had to then come off,” Klopp told the press, as quoted by liverpoolfc.com.

“We all hope it is not that serious. That he could play on could be a sign it is not that serious, hopefully it is like this.”

“I think he will have a scan today or whatever and then we will know more.

“Of course, that’s not cool, he is in really good shape, so hopefully they will not find a lot in the scan.”

Elsewhere, Klopp reported that Andrew Robertson and Sadio Mane picked up knocks, but neither problem is serious enough to cast into doubt their participation against Napoli.
