After the Reds made it eight wins from eight yesterday with a win over Leicester City, the gap to Manchester City increased to eight points at the top of the Premier League table.
Very few dared to think that it would stay like that come the end of the weekend, with Pep Guardiola’s men hosting Wolves at the Etihad Stadium, but it did.
A brace from Adama Traore, helped by some horrific defending from Nicolas Otamendi, gave the Midlands outfit a shock 0-2 victory.
Alan Shearer’s hypocrisy when it comes to penalties is stunning
The Reds, heading into the second international break of the season, having played the same number of Premier League games as Manchester City – eight – are eight points clear at the summit.
This is how Reds took to Twitter to celebrate – with a lot of caution.

I'm not even going over the top yet. 8 points clear at this stage is brilliant, but it's nowhere near over yet.

Liverpool face Manchester United next in the Premier League. That game will take place at Old Trafford on October 20.
Manchester City face a trip to Selhurst Park before then to play Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace the evening before.
