Fabinho was average against Manchester United last weekend, but today v Spurs – he was phenomenal.
He has everything you need in a midfielder: strength, technique, work-rate, tactical discipline – and he showed it this evening.
Fab was on the ball non-stop, used it wisely, and won it back when Spurs had it.
Liverpool fansite @LFCTransferRoom shared his stats from the game on Twitter – and they’re incredible.
Fabinho v Tottenham:
Minutes – 90
Touches – 111
91 – Passes
85% – Accurate Passes
2 – Chances Created
2 – Key Passes
7 – Long Balls
8 – Duels Won
3 – Interceptions
4 – Tackles
11 – Recoveries

We wouldn’t swap him for any defensive midfielder on the planet right now.
The fact he doesn’t start for Brazil is farcical, actually – but thankfully not our problem and means he’s fresh when he gets back from an international break.
There is debate online between Liverpool fans about whether the Brazilian should start v Aston Villa next weekend though – as one more yellow will see him suspended for the Manchester City game on November 10.
Can we win at Villa Park with either Jordan Henderson or Gini Wijnaldum as the anchorman?
Probably – but thankfully it’s not our decision.
