Gary Lineker can see LFC “running away with the title” after Everton thrashing because of squad depth

Gary Lineker believes that the winners of the 2019/20 Premier League title will be Liverpool, and cites squad rotation as a big part of his prediction.

The Reds put five past a feeble Everton on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t the usual suspects as both Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri stepped in to give Bobby Firmino and Mo Salah a rest.

It was an unexpected decision from the boss, but the duo, alongside Sadio Mane, were part of the famous 4-0 demolition of Barcelona in the Champions League last season so there’s that going for them.

The use of these players shows that we’d be able to cope with injuries to our superstar players, as the lads on the bench can put in a shift as well.

I mean – we didn’t even use Naby Keita, because there was already too much rotation in the squad, but he’s another name that just shows the depth we now have.

It’s a difficult task, keeping a first team of around 15-20 players happy, but the boss seems to be doing a good job of it so far – hopefully we can keep our depth beyond this season!
