(Video) “Come on Trent, lad” – Firmino nails Scouse phrases in competition clip

Posted by

Roberto Firmino and Liverpool started a competition last week in which young supporters were asked to send in clips of them recreating a goal scored by the forward.

Bobby described the winning effort as “boss”, before asking Trent Alexander-Arnold to usher in the next instalment of the challenge. “Come on Trent, lad” is how the Brazilian chose to call out the full-back.

Obviously these aren’t words and phrases exclusive to Scousers, but that’s evidently what the Brazilian is going for in the clip.

“Naby, lad” also seems to have caught on in the Liverpool camp during isolation – it’s simple, but it’s nice to see the players mixing it up with the local dialect.
