Twitter: Liverpool fans celebrate Emre Can’s “outstanding” season after “huge” injury blow

Posted by

Liverpool were dealt a massive setback this morning with the news that midfielder Emre Can may not play again this season after rupturing ankle ligaments.

The Germany international has been ruled out for between four and six weeks after being withdrawn in Thursday’s amazing comeback versus Borussia Dortmund.

That pretty much rules Can out of the remainder of the Premier League season, but he may be fit for the Europa League final, if we beat Villarreal in his absence.

It is a double blow for manager Jurgen Klopp, because captain Jordan Henderson is already sidelined with lateral collateral ligament damage in his knee, and the fans are gutted too.

With Can having potentially played his last game of the season, Reds supporters on Twitter have paid tribute to the outstanding campaign that the 22-year-old has enjoyed.
