It seems we have made a £11 million bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic.
17-year-old Pulisic, who is the Bundesliga’s youngster-ever foreign scorer, is greatly admired by Klopp. Our boss promoted the then 16-year-old from the youth ranks to the senior side while he was still in charge of the German club.
However, it is thought Dortmund are reluctant to do business. They have bought attacking reinforcements over the summer and admit it will be harder for the youngster to get game time this season, but don’t want to let one of Europe’s brightest prospects leave the club.
Pulisic scored two goals in 12 appearances at club level last season and also bagged his first goal for the United States national side.
Joyce writes that we will continue to pursue him, even if we are ultimately unsuccessful this summer.
His impending arrival will surely raise questions about some of our other attacking players. Where would Pulisic fit in? Would he be a regular? Let us know in the comments…
