Roberto Firmino, for us, is one of the best players in the Premier League.
This term, Coutinho and Sadio Mane have received enormous praise for their contributions, and rightly so, but our Brazilian no.11 has been just as effective.
Playing as a deep-lying centre-forward or in a more withdrawn attacking midfield role, Firmino has been wondrously creative. He’s completely unselfish and, despite a lack of pace, is always involved in everything good we around the opposition penalty area.
It’s not just his contributions for us that have been recognised, though.
In fact, in his past 90 league matches, for Hoffenheim and now Liverpool, Firmino has scored or assisted 61 times, as shown by this stat from our friends at Anfield HQ.

So in two of every three league games, Firmino either assists or bags.
We paid a fee which could rise to £29m for Firmino, but it’s looking a real bargain. For a player who produces so regularly in the final third, we’d pay double that in this dy and age.
