When we first saw this, we assumed the fan would get a lot of abuse from those frustrated by Liverpool becoming a ‘tourist club’, but the reaction has been actually largely positive.
Yesterday, a picture of a visiting Liverpool supporter reading out lyrics to You’ll Never Walk Alone circled the internet. He’d copied them onto paper and brought them along, but the overwhelming reaction has been good.
It’s much better a fan coming to Anfield for the first time makes an effort and tries to sing. The guy should be congratulated.
As one of the comments suggests, if 54,000 song-sheets meant everyone in the ground joined in, maybe it would be worth it!
Fan spotted with handwritten YNWA lyrics yesterday… ?
To be fair, would rather tourist fans make an effort, like this guy, no? ? pic.twitter.com/lQtMBDuQv8

@empireofthekop nout wrong with that. I'd hand write 54,000 lyric sheets if it meant everyone would sing.

@empireofthekop rather have people with lyrics and sing than people with no lyrics just sat taking selfies all game

@empireofthekop made more of an effort than many yesterday, a lot seemed just happy to film it and not sing, fair play to the lad

@empireofthekop fans from far and wide are not unique to LFC. We should welcome & embrace them esp those like this guy

@empireofthekop a bit like driving… We all have to learn sometime. 10/10 for effort.

.@empireofthekop Made more of an effort than the silent Kop yesterday. Only sang twice and not even YNWA at the 89 minute. They hve to lead.

@empireofthekop Yeah i like this guy…at some point we all had to learn the words to the song, he's doing it now and he might be foreign ??
