Based on the players available and the good performance shown against Spurs, I would like to pick your brains and let us have your ideal line-up for tomorrow’s away match against Wolves.
As Antoine said in the previous post it seems that Stevie Gerrard is back but I too doubt he will be risked against Wolves, especially due to the up and coming home derby with Everton. This therefore, is my pick:

No difference in the lineup maybe just a formation change or go with a 4-4-1-1 Aqua-man in the “Gerrard” role behind Kuyt like he did against spurs which worked well.

I think aquilani will be on the bench along with maxi.
Andy, this could be a game which although hard does not have the same risk factor as the Spurs game. Therefore he might, just might, give Maxi a start! Obviously with Rafa we just have to wait and see! :-)
I’d play that exact team, except swap Insua for Aurelio. And Riera for Babel.
Insua is definitely our weak point. He cannot defend, whatsoever. I do like Riera, but I think a decent run of games will transform Babel into the prospect the whole of the European football world knows him to be. He’s been a bit naughty with his twitter rants, but he hasn’t had a fair craic. People judge him on one game, when that is totally unfair to me.
Ryan Babel should be a regular starter in a Liverpool shirt. FACT. He can be as important as Gerrard and Torres. People may laugh at that statement, but if you know of Ryan Babel’s talents, you won’t. Footballers should be treated fairly. Not one game, you’re sh*t and you’re out. That is NOT the Liverpool way. A true KOPite knows that.

I would never swap Babel for Riera. Riera has the width which we’ve been sorely missing this season and that is just simply not in Ryan’s bag o tricks. I do recognise that the youngster has oodles of talent though he has not been given the chance to perform much.
I would get Babel into the reserves side more often so he can play a couple games instead of Twittering his head off. lol

I think you’ve got Rafa’s selection there.
If we get a good lead this could be an ideal game to give Pacheco a run out.
I think that the starting line-up will be close. I don’t think Stevie will feature, at least not initially.
Babel for Riera….no comparison, I’d take Riera 10 times out of 10! Jevon’s right, Babel should play all the reserve games to set his head right again!
Agree for Pacheco being given a run if we have a 2 goal cushion minimum.
I think Maxi on the right and Riera on the left could give Wolves some real problems.

Don’t think Rafa will risk Stevie G from the start, but I do think we’ll see him at somepoint. I would stick with Aquilani and Kuty and let them do what they did against Spurs.
As for Babel – Rafa, take the cash, but only if you can use it for a replacement. Ryan may be ‘all that’ but sadly he doesn’t want to do it in a Liverpool shirt – shame, as I really thought he would grow into a massive player.
I also agree with your original lineup Tonio, but that’s just my pragmatic side.

Kuyt gets the nod because he absolutely saved us last game, no reason not to repay the favor and give him a start up top again. Now, we also have Babel, N’gog, and Pachecho on the bench dying for some opportunity, so yeah, Pachecho if we have a comfortable lead, I think we could see Maxi come off for Babel in a double swap here too, I really don’t think he’s got a whole game in him yet.
You’ll see my “pipe dream” influence: I think Rafa needs to wise up and play Gerrard where he belongs, winning balls in the deep mid-field and orchestrating our attack from deep. Aquilani was smashing as a shadow striker last game and I’d fancy seeing him get a few more opportunities in this position, Rafa may have finally figured it out…
Tonio spot on m8….Maxi and Riera out wide is a scary prospect for any team. Well need them for some revenge against the Bluenoses.
