Blackpool vs Liverpool (Wednesday)

Posted by

Following our FA cup defeat on Sunday we are back for some EPL action. We take on Blackpool in the game that was postponed during the festive season due to a frozen pitch.

Jamie Carragher is still injured so I would think that Kenny will stick with Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel in the central defence. Glen Johnson is not expected to return as his wife hasn’t given birth yet. Joe Cole and Paul Konchesky are also injured and will both miss the trip to the seaside. Steven Gerrard is banned from this game following the red he received at Old Trafford. I would predict that Kenny will give Jonjo Shelvey a chance to start.

Predicted lineup :
Pepe Reina, Martin Kelly, Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurelio, Lucas Leiva, Raul Meireles,  Maxi Rodriguez, Jonjo Shelvey, Dirk Kuyt, Fernando Torres

Kick off is at 8PM GMT

  1. you really think Jonjo could start ??? wouldn’t be surprised to see Babel in the line up. but would be awesome to see Jonjo start too.

  2. i agree antoine with your predictions. i guess we will see shelvey more frequently. what kind of formation r u expecting? 442 or 4141 again? with that kind of formation 4321 can be interesting aswell.

we need four major signings to be more competitive. i’m looking forward to see the plans that comolli has in mind.

  3. Maybe we’ll see Johnson on the right side of midfield with Lucas and Mereles in the middle and Kyut up front with Torres,If Jonjo does get the nod the lad deserves it.

  4. Interesting….Johnson’s missus still hasnt given birth, either thats the longest labour of all time or Kenny dropped him in favor of Kelly
I agree, stick him on the right wing, meireles and lucas in the middle

  5. I m not quite supportive of Jonjo starting 2moro but if the Boss see’s it in training or due to tactical reasons then he could get the nod of starting,I would prefer our youthful wingers to have an opportunity tomoro in the likes of Eccleston,Pacheco,or Jonjo we need quality in our wide areas and pace.wiv the football tutelage of our King Kenny the youngsters will prevail..all d best common!! Reds

  6. Jonjo is fine. He’s a got a lot of attributes that make a great footballer. Size, skills, confidence etc. The only thing missing maybe is authority. He needs to assert himself more in the game just like Stevie. I can see him taking over from Stevie in the near future.

  7. I thought bans start a week after the card is issued, meanin that stevie wud b banned 4 the weekend match, leavin him available 4 tonights match???? obviously i could b wrong, but that was my understanding
