4th place beckons!

Having read various Chelsea forums last week, you’d think that the match on Sunday between Chelsea and Liverpool was a foregone conclusion, it was a matter of how many goals Fernandodo Torres would score, and how many goals Chelsea were going to win by! 3-0, 4-1, 5-0….

So looking back on a really well organised, well fought 0-1 away win at Chelsea it’s very plain to see that Liverpool can still compete at the very highest level, my only concern is the way Liverpool pass the ball around at the back, it’s all a bit too dangerous for my liking, and they will get caught out from time to time if it continues.

As it stands Liverpool are just six points behind Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool having played a game more! with 36 points still to play for, wouldn’t it be very very pleasing to see Liverpool pip Chelsea to fourth place! If, and it is still a fairly big if, Liverpool were to finish fourth and Chelsea fifth, or even sixth, I wonder if Mr. Torres would hand in a transfer request to further his career with a BIG club, and not some piddly little west London club.

I’d like to thank Roy Hodgson for buying Raul Meireles last August, and Kenny Dalglish for getting Raul playing like a legend.

  1. Credit goes to purslow for signing raul. Besides helping get rid of h&g it was the only thing he did right! Hodgson knew nothing about him. Meireles is creative and instinctive and that goes against everything that elwas Roy hodgsons!

  2. i would love to see nothing more than that soulless club ending up behind lfc.money cant buy togetherness.kenny brought that back along with pride.maybe shanks and paisley were whispering in nandos ear to leave.it certainly feels like the liverpool spirit is returning..

  3. Great post, mate.
Chelsea don’t really have supporters anymore, they just attempt (and fail) to copy many other teams’ traditions, Liverpool being their biggest influence.
As much as I’d love to think of every Chelsea match as being full to the brim with banter and heated debate (like when we’re playing Everton, Arsenal, Man Utd etc), virtually all the time it is just me talking to another Liverpool fan because all the Chelsea fans either don’t know what to talk about or are already travelling home!
I am by no means a bluenose or a manc, but at least some of them know football!!

  4. six liverpool players in the chelsea penalty area in open play ! all the livepool players bar carragher got far forward at some stage – total football – the liverpool way.
