7) Danny Ings (Burnley)
The 22-year-old has looked decent in the Premier League so far this season, scoring nine goals for the Clarets to aid their survival bid. The England Under-21 international isn’t the big name we’re hoping for but could be a useful rotation option.
6) Andre-Pierre Gignac (Marseille)
The French international has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season. While at 29 he won’t be a long-term solution to our need for a new striker, but he could be a useful short-term option while we look at other targets.
5) Dani Alves (Barcelona)
Glen Johnson and Jon Flanagan are both out of contract and Liverpool could find themselves in need of a new right-back. We could make a big statement by beating several other clubs to this Brazilian veteran.
4) Nigel de Jong (AC Milan)
The former Manchester City man has endured a disappointing season with Milan but was another who impressed at the last World Cup. A powerful holding midfielder who could help sure us up at the back.
