3) Yevhen Konoplyanka (Dnipro)
Our current squad is crying out for some natural width. After missing out on the Ukrainian international last year it will be interesting to see whether we make a renewed approach for his services come the summer.
2) Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)
The World Cup winning midfielder has fallen down the pecking order in the Spanish capital but is still a quality player. He’s had his problems with injuries but if we can get him right he could prove an astute signing.
1) James Milner (Manchester City)
The energetic and hard-working England international would help soften the blow of losing Steven Gerrard. His versatility would no doubt be welcomed by Brendan Rodgers as he experiments with is favourite formation.
