The Reds have officially completed a deal to sign 1899 Hoffenheim forward Roberto Firmino. His move is subject to a medical, which will be completed following the end of Brazil’s participation in the Copa America.
Liverpool transfer news
Our official website confirms that the 23-year-old has signed a long-term deal on Merseyside. The forward made 151 appearances in league and cup for his former employers, netting 47 goals, and should provide a huge boost to our ambitions of a top four finish.
Firmino becomes our fifth signing already this summer, following the deals for James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan and Joe Gomez.
He also joins Brazilian international teammate Philippe Coutinho at Anfield. No doubt the Liverpool faithful are drooling at the prospect of seeing those two play together for us!
Welcome to Anfield Roberto. Well done to everyone involved for getting this deal done so quickly.
There’ll be plenty more to follow on this story throughout the day.
