Liverpool renew interest in Premier League star, 18 months after missing out

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing up a move for Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah, who is currently on loan in Italy, with the Daily Express claiming that the Egyptian would be willing to cut short his 18-month deal to stay in the top flight.

As The Guardian confirm, the Reds were desperate to sign Salah back in January 2014, but he chose a move to Stamford Bridge instead. Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, he’s since found his chances limited in West London, and was subsequently sent out to Fiorentina at the start of this year.

Despite his loan deal having another year to run, the Express state that Salah has severed ties with the Serie A side, with Liverpool keeping a close eye on the situation to see how it develops.

Brendan Rodgers will not make a move until he understands the full situation regarding the termination of Salah’s loan agreement, with UEFA sanctions a possibility if Chelsea and Fiorentina fail to come to an agreement.
