The Brazilian put plenty of effort in, but things didn’t seem to come off for him. He regularly tracked back and put a shift in, but his final ball was poor.
Substitute: Jordon Ibe – 7.0
One of the brightest players on the pitch in his brief cameo, and drew a fantastic save out of David de Gea with a venomous left footed shot.
LAM) Danny Ings – 6.5
Deployed on the wing instead of alongside Christian Benteke, Ings worked hard throughout. Much like Firmino however, he was fairly ineffectual.
Substitute: Divock Origi – 6.0
Came on late and struggled to have an impact on the game.
ST) Christian Benteke – 7.0
The big Belgian didn’t get the best service, but looked decent throughout. His goal was a moment of pure magic, but was unfortunately overshadowed by Martial’s instant response.
