Joe Gomez: £12m
Our thoughts: Perhaps England’s most talented teenage defender. We paid £3.5m for him, but he’s at least quadrupled that.
Joe Allen: £12m
Our thoughts: Too high a valuation for the diminutive Welshman, who’s never established himself in the team since his £15m arrival.
Mario Balotelli: £12m
Our thoughts: We’re having to pay half his wages just for AC Milan to take him on loan! There’s no way anyone’s offering £12m for the Italian.
James Milner: £12m
Our thoughts: A fair price for the industrious midfielder who we got for free in the summer.
Divock Origi: £14m
Our thoughts: Overvalued here. We bought him for £10m and he certainly hasn’t increased his sell-on price in the meantime.
Martin Skrtel: £15m
Our thoughts: In his thirties now which automatically devalues him. Most fans would accept a £15m offer for the Slovakian – who splits Anfield opinion. Still, when he’s on-song, he’s as good as anybody, as his performance against City last week shows.
