Daniel Sturridge: £15m
Our thoughts: Worth triple this when he’s fit, at least. Sadly, he never is – meaning many supporters would be happy to take £15m and reinvest in a healthier replacement.
Lazar Markovic: £16m
Our thoughts: Signed for £20m, Markovic’s value has probably halved since summer 2014. We’d say £10m is fairer.
Dejan Lovren: £16m
Our thoughts: Lovren needs to put in a string of consistent performances now to prove he’s worth £16m.
Danny Ings: £18m
Our thoughts: Ings started well, but this is a very generous valuation. Let’s see how he does upon return from injury…
Simon Mignolet: £18m
Our thoughts: Sorry? £18m would make Mignolet one of the dearest keepers of all time. He’s not doubled his worth since arriving on Merseyside.
Alberto Moreno: £20m
Our thoughts: Signed for £12m in 2014, Moreno’s age and talent makes him well worth the stated £20m. Top fullbacks go for serious cash nowadays. Let’s hope he develops into one.
