The hamstring curse strikes again as Jordon Ibe faces a spell on the sidelines

Posted by

The injury crisis at Anfield is showing no signs of abating, with Jordon Ibe becoming the latest first team member to be ruled out.

Unbelievably, a hamstring is once again the culprit. The 20-year-old becomes our seventh player to be sidelined with the issue, joining Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi, Jordan Rossiter, and Martin Skrtel who all have the same problem (via Echo).

The injury apparently occurred during our 1-0 win away at Stoke in the League Cup semi-final on Tuesday. Ibe was a first half replacement for Coutinho, but complained about discomfort in his muscle after full-time. Scans have since revealed a strain.

He was not at Melwood for training on Thursday, and will not travel to the south coast for Friday night’s FA Cup tie with Exeter City.

The Echo claim we now have 13 players injured, with the seven aforementioned crocks joining Kolo Toure (cramp), Mamadou Sakho (knee), Jordan Henderson (heel), Danny Ings (knee) and Joe Gomez (knee) in the treatment room.

It would actually be hilarious, if only it weren’t for the fact we’re probably ripe for an FA Cup upset tomorrow and we play both Man United and Arsenal at Anfield in the next ten days.

Let’s hope Klopp’s got a miracle cure up his sleeve!
