Liverpool’s young German powerhouse Emre Can is set for a four year contract extension on terms of around £80k-per-week.
Fans have had to deal with continual news about Coutinho’s potential departure, so the story of Can’s contract offers some respite – especially as viable transfer updates have gone cold.
The 22-year-old is away with his country at the Euros this summer, but will hopefully return revitalised, more experienced and ready for a 2016/17 campaign in which he’s expected to play a major role.
Here’s what Reds had to say on the prodigal midfielder many are touting as a future skipper.

Think it’s a fair comment to say Emre Can has barely put a foot wrong since Klopp was appointed.

If Coutinho leaves, Emre Can is the next gem we have to protect.
