Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski has rather ridiculously been linked with a summer switch to Anfield, with the Polish international apparently unsettled in Germany (via the Daily Mail).
Unsurprisingly this rumour has been met with scoffs and scorn from most Liverpool fans, with few believing such a far fetched story.
We’ve gathered some of the best tweets below, to see what the fans are saying on Twitter.
Some have laughed off the ridiculous rumour:
If Lewandowski goes to Liverpool, I will buy an Everton shirt

There are actually Liverpool fans who think we’ll sign Lewandowski — brad (@_brad_walkerr) June 17, 2016
Lewandowski to Liverpool??? Ronaldo to United. People actually buy this crap?

There is a 0% chance of Lewandowski coming to Liverpool — Sam (@SimplyAlaba) June 17, 2016
While a small few seem to actually be taking it seriously:

I read somewhere:
Lewandowski snubs Bayern to join Liverpool.

Lewandowski open to Liverpool move.. That will be a major coup. Let’s hope he won’t pull a Falcao tho — Warlock (@brainwavzz) June 17, 2016
The Mail’s report suggests that Lewandowski is no longer happy at Bayern Munich, and is therefore looking for a move this summer. He’s apparently keen to reunite with his former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, and would therefore love a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool transfer news
While pretty much every Liverpool fan alive would love to see Lewandowski at Anfield next season, this has to be one of the most improbable, implausible, and impossible rumours we’ve heard in a while. Bayern would demand a fortune for one of the best strikers in the world, and as much as we’d like to deny it, a switch to Liverpool is currently a step down for the striker – especially following our failure to secure Champions League football.
